Healthy ' Taters

I won't lie, I grew up eating "Tater Tots". They're delicious, what is not to love? Perhaps 160-200 calories and 8-10 grams of fat at each meal 3-ounce, depending on brand (Yes, there are many imitators). This is without cheese or fillings. I hate to bash the delicious food, but I would consider them loosely.

Thanks to my prescription renewed, there is no need to deprive ourselves of something we really want. Can enjoy the same treat cooking – Golden crisp Brown outside, tender inside with hints of onions. Make my Tots with shredded potatoes and egg whites and panko onion, minced. I baked in the oven until they're golden brown, well, downright amazing. And get this, you can enjoy the tut more for less, since you get approximately 4 oz only 74 calories (FAT zero). I don't need to mention savings; it is less expensive to make at home then if you buy them at the grocery store.

"Tater Tots" bread
Note: I make my Tots big so if you are interested in small pieces, a sweet potato mixture in 24 records and everyone will be a 6 instead of 4. The smallest tots, start with checking the oven after about 18 minutes and pull out when you're nice and red.

Cooking spray
2 cups packed peeled and chopped potatoes (any variety)
1/4 cup panko (Japanese-style bread crumbs)
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons minced dried onion (Spice aisle)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the shredded potato, panko, egg white, dried onion, salt and pepper. Mix well together. Form mixture into 16 bit register and arrange on a baking sheet (and easier when the formation of potato mixture into small balls and then shape to records once the balls on a baking sheet). Spray with cooking spray.
Refrigerate 5 minutes.
Transfer baking sheet to oven and Bake 25-35 minutes, until brown.

Healthy snacks for one day at the beach

About two hours into my first day at the beach this summer I realized that not good planning. Ice cream man began ringing a Bell that is automatically run my hunger. Digging through my bag Beach, find anything resembling food. After taking a SWIG from a bottle of water, warm water filled with half my I realized I need to plan better for my the next day in the Sun a bit.

It's easy to crave junk food when you are on vacation or stranded on the beach for hours. Packing healthy snacks for me, is the way to go, especially because the last thing I want to feel bloated or slow in my bikini. Here are my picks for the friendly beach snacks that can be translated easily to options for any outdoor picnic this summer.

Dried fruits and nuts

Dried fruits nuts nutritional may is the perfect combination to your day at the beach. The great thing about trail mix is fully customizable. Toss together favorite unsalted nuts, seeds, dried fruit, or anything else you can dream, you have a healthy snack. This perfect pairing of carbohydrates and nutrients such as protein also loaded with antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids. Are you looking for comfort?  Grab bar kind trail mix is basically no fuss in portable bar form. Avoid those containing chocolate on super hot (similarly to add chocolate to your mix homemade trail); it can get messy fast.

Fresh fruit

Best bets are citrus, melons and berries blue or purple, mango and apricot.  For what? All these fruits in phytochemicals, which can help to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. While this does not mean you're free skimp on Sun, may give you an extra boost you need to stay safe in the Sun. On top of that protective properties, many fruits throughout the summer season and a healthy snack and refreshing perfection.

Banana + peanut butter

Can't decide between sweet and salty?  Want something easy that will fill you? Bananas with peanut butter will do the trick. Bananas are loaded with potassium and vitamins B6 and c add some peanut butter to the mix: Slater that right on the banana, or enjoy this heavenly slice of mix on whole grain bread and you will be ready to ride the waves throughout the day.

Raw vegetables

Chop up some carrots, red peppers and broccoli bring to the beach. As you know, it's packed with vitamins and minerals to keep your body strong and healthy. What you may not know is that all these vegetables can also help protect the skin from the Sun, where the company is perfect for a day at the beach.  Additionally, is a great source of water that will help keep you hydrated from vegetables. Not in vegetables alone? Yummy bean dip package such as hummus or low-fat dressing dipping and you will be assigned to fun in the Sun.

Edamame

This bean peeled or aunshilid, is the perfect snack for the sand. Rich in fiber and protein (a cup with the same amount of protein as eggs 2) and strengthening energy carbohydrates, beans green small this is great for noshing in and out of the Sun. Pack frozen edamame in your beach bag, they'll be ready for a snack time comes.

Drinks

It's always important to stay hydrated when out in the Sun but of beverage calories can add up quickly. For some of us, not just water yummy enough. Try adding slices of cucumber, melon citrus or even water with herbs such as Mint, add some excitement. Still bored? A fast, easy and healthy iced tea. You can cold brew at home and customize it, too. Try adding lemon or honey or ginger for some extra flavor. In addition, green tea and black alike, such as some fruit, protecting the skin from UV rays, makes it the perfect beach drinks.  Not in the mood to BREW? I love the "honest tea"; there are many low-calorie options, not only in a few fun flavors.

The two halves should be cooler.

Sure, you can toss some snacks in your beach bag, but for a whole day on the beach and these are my must haves cooler keep you going.   Pack light cheese options such as low-fat string cheese (trader Joes had stick mozzarella fresh new – yum!)"Laughing cow" wedges or dresses baby-Bel. They're perfect for pairing with a piece of fruit. Greek yogurt container to snuggle next to frozen water bottle keep it cool until you're ready for a snack in the middle of the day.
